Twins update

The twins are now officially 18 months old. Usually that milestone means we can start taking them to the nursery at church but our kind nursery leaders have been letting us take them for about 6 weeks now. The other thing that happens at 18 months is the well child visit.
So today I took the twins to their doctor's appointment so that Steve could pick Kevin up from preschool. Taking the twins anywhere is an adventure but at the least the doctor's office is fairly childproof, although not as much as I would expect. I mean, come on people, could we put some child locks on the drawers and cabinets in the exam rooms please!
Stats for the twins are as follows: Troy is 24 lbs 6 oz. and 32 inches tall. Jonathan is 24 lbs. 8 oz. and 31 inches tall. This is the first time in their lives that Jonathan has weighed more than Troy. They seem to be doing fine with everything else. They had to have one shot each today but neither of them even cried! It was amazing. Jonathan also had some blood drawn to check his iron level. Since he isn't really talking yet the doctor was slightly concerned about low iron. Apparently low iron can affect expressive language. So he gave us a prescription for an iron supplement just in case, and told us to check him over the next few months both for speech as well as mood, because low iron can cause irritability as well. Things I never knew! Maybe I have low iron...

I think Jonathan communicates just fine- we just don't know his language! I am still amazed at how much it takes to watch those little boys - Kevin included. No wonder you are tired. I get exhausted very quickly.

Don't we all have 'low iron'??? I think it causes swearing, too...

I think the Talbot's have a genetic predisposition to low iron levels...or we just take after Dad.
