Lesson Number 1: We were having family night, and Steve was teaching the story of David and Goliath. He used a giant teddy bear as Goliath, and Woody from Toy Story as David. He explained how David was so much smaller but he went out there with his sling, and picked up a stone and hit Goliath right between the eyes. Then he asked, “And do you know how David was able to win the fight, even though he was so much smaller?” Kevin answered, “Because he had that rock!”
Yep, that’s my boy. Always the practical thinker.
Lesson Number 2: I came into Kevin’s bedroom to find him lying on his bed, just looking at the ceiling. Before I could question him, he said, “Mom, do you know why I’m laying here so quietly? I’m listening to my Holy Ghost.” So I said, ok, and let him sit there and listen. He turned his head slightly, and moved his eyes around the room as he listened. Then he said, “I think he’s saying…. get up.” And with that he stood up and moved on to another activity.
That little boy teaches me so many things it’s crazy!
