So here’s a “brief” summary of our recent trip to California. This post has a lot of pictures, but it only a small portion of the pictures that we took. Thank heaven for digital cameras and memory cards!
The first exciting thing that happened on our trip was at the McDonald’s in St. George, where we stopped for lunch. Kevin lost his second tooth! Turns out the tooth fairy can find you, even when you’re spending the night in Las Vegas.
In Vegas, we took the kids to see the volcano at The Mirage, and the fountains and The Bellagio. We also went to Circus Circus. On the way home from our trip we took them to Fremont Street and to the top of the Stratosphere (which is where we stayed.)
The next day we started our Disneyland fun.
Jonathan quickly proved that he wasn’t shy about meeting the characters at all.
Troy proved that although he wasn’t really opposed to meeting the characters, he really didn’t want his picture taken. He looks either bored, or angry in almost every picture.
He really did have fun though. Kevin really loved being in pictures (as long as there were no Disney characters around), and with his recently lost tooth, it made for some really cute grins.
After we finished up at Disneyland and California Adventure, we drove down to San Diego, stopping at the beach on the way.
In San Diego we spent two days at Sea World.
Jonathan and Kevin continued to look happy in pictures.
Troy continued to look bored.
They all really enjoyed the shows though. We saw the Shamu show twice and they really seemed to get a kick out of it. We even had one of those “Shamu pictures” taken.
At the end of our stay in San Diego we grabbed some food from In ‘n Out Burger and headed to the beach. It was beautiful. The boys had a great time running around in the sand.
All was going well until some of the seagulls decided to go right over the top of my head and try to eat the hamburger right out of my hand. Feeling a little like I was in a Hitchcock movie, I waited in the car until the sun went down. But other than that, it was a great trip with great memories.
