Into the wild blue yonder

Our family loves air shows, so of course we went to the air show last weekend at Hill Air Force Base. It was a long day for everyone, but we all had a great time. Here are some of the highlights. (Please forgive the camera work. I was using my little Kodak digital camera for the pics and the video and sometimes the action was too fast for me.)

These are a couple of the Thunderbirds' signature moves. Sorry about the second one. I was zoomed in and I got a little bumpy.

The boys all got some free plastic airplanes, which was a great distraction during the down times.

One of my favorite things that they do at every air show I've been to is called the heritage flight. They fly airplanes from several eras together. At the airshow this weekend they flew a P-51 Mustang (from World War 2), an F-4 Phantom (from Vietnam), and an F-16 Falcon (currently used). I didn't get a great picture of it, but it was one of the highlights for me.The crowds were intense, but the weather was nice and it was something we all enjoyed. Plus the air show only comes around about once every three years, so we had to take advantage of it while it was here.

you do the bravest things april! all day at an airshow with 3 kids would probably drive me to drink, so kudos to you and steve for not only doing it, but enjoying it as well!
