Surf ‘n Surf ‘n Turf ‘n More

When I started dating Steve, he figured out quickly that my family is carnivorous. We love meat. Especially when my dad cooks it out on the grill. And my dad will cook out on the grill in any weather, any season, any condition. The last time we were at my parents’ house for a visit, we had the opportunity to partake of one of these Talbot-style feasts.

The occasion was my parents’ 31st anniversary. They didn’t really feel like going out, and my dad decided to put as much stuff on the barbeque grill as he could possibly fit. We had steak, shrimp, lobster tail, and mushrooms all cooked out on the grill. (I wish I had taken a picture of all that stuff crammed on there.) Then there was also corn on the cob and baked potatoes. Fantastic!

Steve says that he’s never seen any family that uses meat as a main dish and a side dish the way we do. (Hey honey, what would go well with this steak? I know, shrimp and lobster!) I say, Bring it on! And the boys like it, too.

i totally agree with your ideaology on the meat thing. it must be in the talbot gene, because when we go over to my sister's for a bbq it's definitely a meatapalooza over there too! also, i've been getting a hankering for your bbq chicken lately, so yeah, anytime you want to invite your neighbors over...i'll bring dessert (meat pie, right? :P)

Meat with a side of meat is a VERY balanced meal!! I dated a Samoan guy for a while and when his mom would cook there was at least 3 meats involved and the only veg/fruit would be fried bananas! I think she may have thought SPAM was a veggie, but I'm not sure.
