Nascar weekend

So Steve took me to NASCAR weekend down in Phoenix a few weeks ago. I’m not such a fan but Steve loves the NASCAR. His favorite drivers include Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, and Greg Biffle. He also likes Mark Martin. No Junior or Jeff Gordon fans around here. I like the M&Ms car. Doesn’t matter who’s driving it, I just like the M&Ms car. It’s a fun looking car, plus if it wins Steve buys me M&Ms.

Nascar has a slogan on some of the shirts they sell. It says: “Go fast or go home.” I think they should also sell shirts that say “Did you bring your earplugs?” or “Have you inhaled your ethanol fumes today?” But I’m just joking. We went to 3 races that weekend we were in Phoenix: the truck race, the nationwide series race, and the sprint cup race. That’s a lot of “go fast, turn left” kind of stuff. Around lap 150 of the sprint cup race I rediscovered the video poker game on my cell phone.

I’ll admit it though, there were some fun, exciting moments at the race. When all those cars start up and are going well over 100 mph, it’s pretty intense. If you slowly turn your head to the left, then quickly whip it to the right, it’s almost like you’re there! There were several big wrecks too. Luckily nobody was injured. One of the best things about the trip was that my parents babysat our kids the whole time we were gone. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Other trip highlights:

I also have some video from the race (and the concert) that I’ll try to put on here.
