Some Sunday randomness

I really thought it was off to a good start. Not only were we on time to church today, but we were 5 minutes early. Early! Amazing for us. Alas, the good start didn’t carry through very long into the meeting. We had to make several trips to the foyer. And by we, I mean the entire bench of Ellis’. Steve tried to take just Kevin out, but then the twins freaked out because daddy left and I don’t have the strength or the stamina to hold them both back. So off we went. It happened several times. People just smiled at us as we left.

Then we were practicing the primary program in the chapel. Kevin did not want any part of it and refused to even sit on the stand. I was in charge of leading the songs and at one point while my back was turned, Kevin just left the chapel. Gone. Don’t know where he was. He came back on his own and Steve eventually came in and kept an eye on him so I could continue with our 2 hour practice. And for some reason, whenever I’m standing and singing for that long, my ears start to act funny. It starts to feel like I’m under water or something. Ah, good times. But it definitely made my day when we picked up the twins from nursery and this is what I saw:

Apparently the lesson was: “My Ears Can Hear”. Cute, right? It made me think of pink elephants. So we brought our little pink elephants home, along with Captain Obstinate and started on getting everyone fed, changed, and the twins down for their naps. Sundays are just so entirely draining sometimes and I definitely do not have the best attitude all the time.

I was thinking about one of my grandpa’s poems today. It goes like this:

If we could go to Heaven and set around a spell, and maybe spend a day or two in that other place called Hell, and if they’d post their restrictions where we could plainly see, maybe it would help us plan where we would like to be.

If they judge us on a Sunday there will be lots of us go up to glory, but if they wait until Monday that will be another story.

Sometimes it feels like I won’t have to wait clear until Monday for it to be another story.

i saw the chapel door closing and I wondered who came in or out and then I saw you looking around, under benches and then run out of the chapel, too. Then I kicked myself for not realizing what happened sooner and be of some help! I hope that boy doesn't put you in the looney bin, although if he does, we might be roommates! Sweet! Something to look forward to!
If we are judged by our Sundays, I will not make it, just so ya know!
