I think I've already told this story to the six people who read this blog, so why write it down? Well, every so often I order a hard copy print version of this blog so we can have it as a "family history" of sorts. I usually give it to Steve as a gift, and he says, "Great! Since I don't write in a journal this will work instead." Yep, that's right honey. I update our little family blog so that you don't have to keep a journal. That's alright though, I don't write in a journal very often either. So on to today's story which will be filed away in the Ellis family annuls.
I had to pick up a prescription from Walgreen's, and also some Aleve. So I thought this would be a quick, get in/get out type of errand. I can take the boys with me right? (famous last words) Well, to increase my chance of success I had each of the boys choose a treat at Walgreen's that we could buy if they were good. They all chose a caramel corn-on-the-cob. (Have you tried those things? So good warmed up. But I digress) I went and grabbed the Aleve that I needed and headed back to the pharmacy. By this point, Jonathan was running around the store, completely ignoring my cries of "Wait! No! Come back!" Troy tried to follow but I grabbed him and put him on a chair next to Kevin. I got my prescription and tried to leave the store, but Jonathan kept eluding me. (Thank heaven Walgreens is a small store)
At this point, Troy decided that it would be way more fun to stay in the store, so he started throwing a fit. I picked him up in one arm and tried to track down Jonathan. Kevin kept asking, "Can I go get Jonathan?" I kept telling him no because I didn't want two kids running around the store. After a while though, I realized that with a fit-throwing Troy in one arm, and wearing flip-flops, I had no chance of catching Jonathan. So finally I said, "Kevin, go get him."
Kevin immediately took off, caught up to Jonathan, clothes-lined him, put him in a headlock, and took him to the ground. It gave me enough time to catch up to both of them. I grabbed Jonathan in the hand that wasn't holding Troy and dragged them all out of the store. We weren't specifically told not to come back, but I think it was implied. Normally I wouldn't condone Kevin practicing such violence on his brother, but desperate times...
Next time I'm using the drive-through and forgetting about the Aleve.
Merry Christmas and Happy December!

That is pure awesomeness! hahahahaha
I love it! Kids are awesome.
By the way, I'm a little offended that you think only 6 people read your blog and that you told all 6 of them this story! Just because we aren't visiting teaching comps anymore and I don't live in the same state as you . . . I'm kidding :)

Wow! I know those times are just ahead for us with two boys now... I can't wait.
I love your family! How long before they are all in school? I hear being a Grandma is all worth it! HAHAHA
I love your family journal stories! I CANNOT imagine having two Spencer's and trying to go to the store!! I pray every night that I don't loose the ONE toddler I have or that I can keep up with him before something bad happens to him or runs him over! I will now add you to my prayers of keeping the little darlings safe and sound! Talk about a good take-down! Way to go Kevin!
Oh, the times I remember not seeing the outside of the neighborhood (and the house sometimes) during daylight hours! School for Kevin will help some and then preschool next year for the twins will be grand. (You will spend all the time doing the errands while they are occupied.) Remember that you are loved and so are those darling boys!!!
