This is a gripe. This is only a gripe. If this were an actual emergency I would call it a lament. It’s not a lament. This is only a gripe.
Last week Kevin was having a shower and Steve noticed that the ceiling in the downstairs bathroom had a bubble in it. So he used a screwdriver to pop the bubble and let out all the water. We weren’t exactly sure where the water was coming from but we know now. On Thursday we finally had a plumber come over to fix the leaking bathtub faucet. Turns out the faucet wasn’t just leaking into the bathtub. It was leaking back into the wall and down into the downstairs bathroom.
So the same day that we ended up having to pay to get our car fixed, we had to pay the plumber, and get the water damage people out here to get started on drying out our house. Now we have fans in both the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms, and holes drilled into our bedroom wall with air shooting in there too. Oh, and no ceiling in the bathroom downstairs.
Today the water damage guys were supposed to come check on things and take all the fans away, but the floor of the upstairs bathroom hadn’t dried out yet. So now we have no linoleum in there, and the toilet is in the bathtub.
It’s supposed to be dried out by tomorrow, but until then I guess we have to squeeze around the fans downstairs if we need to use the bathroom.
To add to my griping, this week I’m playing in a musical and have rehearsals or performances every night, and Steve has some minor surgery on Thursday. Of all the weeks for this to happen. Grrrrr…..
So I guess I’ll be calling the insurance adjustor and tell her to add a few things to the reconstruction quote (like a bathroom floor). And then I’ll run to the pharmacy to pick up the new antibiotic my doctor called in, since my current one isn’t doing anything for my sinus infection. Maybe I should pick up an over the counter sleep aid too, since we’ll have at least one more night of really loud fans in our very warm bedroom.
Please note: I know none of this is all that terrible. It could have been much worse, and the sun’ll come out tomorrow and all that business. I just felt the need to gripe. I’m okay now.

I sure hope that things will be back in shape as soon as possible. New floor and new faucet will be something good at least. What a week you have had!! I hope you feel better soon, too!! Love you!!
No room for boredom at your place sounds like!! I hope you and Steve get well soon!
