The baby had hiccups for the first time today. I called Kevin over to feel. He has felt her kick several times and really gets a kick out of it. (Haha! So punny!) Anyway, I told him that what he was feeling was the baby with hiccups. He acted very concerned about it but I assured him that babies can get hiccups before they're born and it's just fine. He left the room, seemingly unconvinced by my assurances. A few minutes later he walked back in with a large glass of water. "Mom," he said, "Drink this really slow and it will help the baby not to have the hiccups." Apparently he thought that if we didn't do something to help the baby with her hiccups now she would be born with them. And then that would require some sort of extravagant medical intervention. I'm so glad he takes this big brother job so seriously!
