CSI West Jordan

Tuesday night, I got home from symphonic winds rehearsal and asked Steve, “So, how did things go?” His usual answer is something like “Fine.” or “They’re all feral.” But this time he said, “There’s been an incident.”

Incident?

He further explained, “Troy is going to look a little different next time you see him.” So I required a full explanation.

Steve was getting the boys ready for bed. He had Troy in pajamas and was getting Jonathan changed. Kevin opened the door to the babies’ room which allowed Troy to escape. He climbed up into the box window (which the boys do all the time) but this time, we had the window open to let some cool air in.

Steve said he could hear Troy crying but it sounded far away, like maybe he fell down the stairs or something. He came out to check and noticed that the screen on the window had been partially dislodged. That’s when he realized: Troy fell out the living room window!

To illustrate what happened, I took some photos. I totally felt like a crime scene investigator, trying to piece together exactly what happened. Here’s what I came up with:

Troys fall

The results could have been so much worse. But as it is, he is pretty scraped up on his face and head, from his dive into the lava rock, but nothing is broken and nothing requires stitches. He must have landed right on his head because his hands, arms, and the rest of his body are completely fine.

100_0813100_0818 Ever since this “incident” Troy has avoided the living room window. As for his twin brother Jonathan, I don’t think he has learned the lesson yet, as he was peeking behind the blinds while I was taking my crime scene photos.100_0823 I feel bad for poor little Troy’s scraped up face, but I am soooooo grateful that it wasn’t any worse. Now we know that we just can’t open that window. Lesson learned.

Oh my goodness! That is so scary. i'm glad he missed the window well...now your facebook update about being grateful for tulips makes more sense. :) I'm glad he's alright. I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before Sisi does something like that...

Poor kid! I almost lost Lily out our front window a few weeks ago! Mine is quite a bit higher than yours so needless to say I don't like opening my window anymore! We should get gates to put up so they can't get up there! I am so glad he missed the window well!!
